How to release the feelings stuck in your body?

In the previous post, we talked about identifying the emotions trapped in your body, why that happens how to recognize them, and where they are trapped. if you haven’t read it yet, check it out here.

In this post, we’re going to talk about a few ways to help you release those emotions from your body and become more free. The body in itself has incredible powers to heal itself, and using these techniques you can activate those powers, and let your body reward you for healing both physically and emotionally:

Breathing exercises: It is considered one of the most effective ways to release emotions stuck in the body because they work directly to bring about physical changes, and help calm the nervous system to return to balance. There are several ways to apply these exercises, such as holding the breath, breathing within an area of the body, shifting the breath from one area of the body to another, and others.

Writing: Writing is considered one of the alternative therapeutic methods in psychology, as it enables a person to express himself, his feelings, and thoughts freely, and makes him more aware of them, giving him a new and external point of view, which helps him to release and liberate them. This can be done by using guiding questions, by free writing, or even by writing stories and poems.

Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT): This involves patting certain parts of the body while talking about the feelings/problems. This leads to breaking the neural connections that connect the feeling to the problem and helps the person stop identifying with those feelings.

Holistic massage method: This involves massaging the body in areas known to store certain feelings to release them.

Last but not least, talk about them by attending to psychological treatment, which is no less important than any other technique. There are types of therapy that specifically address the release of emotions, such as Emotional-focused therapy (EFT).

Of course, several other ways can help the individual release stuck emotions in his own way such as: arts, sports, running, boxing, dancing, singing, cooking, etc. However, these techniques (mentioned above) are known to be beneficial in the therapeutic realm.

In the next posts, we intend to talk about each technique individually and expand on the ways you can use them and for what specific emotions they can be used, so you better keep an eye on what’s coming next, or you can subscribe to our newsletter to be notified.

For now,

Love
